A Chance to Leave Your Mark on Sure We Can!
Dear friend,
We’re on the cusp of a huge milestone: on March 1st, we will open our first ever Sure We Can expansion redemption center! We’ve dreamed of this for years, and it’s a little overwhelming to finally be on the threshold. We’re working hard to get the space ready: buying and installing containers and equipment and making repairs. There is, however, a key element still outstanding–we need to make the space beautiful, inviting, and inspiring. For that, we’re asking for your help and participation!
We’re using some of the funds you helped us raise last year to hire Artolution, a wonderful organization that works with marginalized folks across the world to express their often-underheard stories through art. They collaborate with communities to make beautiful murals and other works of public art. They helped us paint our van! They’ll be with us at the new site–1762 East New York Ave–this Saturday, February 22nd, from 11am till 5pm, helping transform three drab shipping containers into vibrant, functional artworks. Estamos casi en un hito enorme: el 1 de marzo, ¡abriremos nuestro segundo centro de reciclaje de Sure We Can! Hemos soñado con esto durante años, y es un poco intenso para estar a punto de llegar. Estamos trabajando duramente para preparar el espacio: comprando e instalando contenedores y equipo y haciendo reparaciones. Todavía hay, sin embargo, un elemento esencial no hecho–necesitamos hacer el espacio hermoso, acogedor, y animando. ¡Para hacer, estamos pidiendo tu ayuda y participación!
